Global stock markets mostly gained on Wednesday, with the three major United States (US) stock indexes gaining further ground on Wednesday, led by gains in energy and financials, as upbeat quarterly results from companies including Coca-Cola and Verizon boosted confidence about the pace of the economic recovery. Still, investors remained concerned over the threats posed by the rapid spread of the Delta variant on business activity.
