Erick Thohir, the Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs), is definitely the one to watch given his position and influence to Indonesian business and politics. Erick joined Kaesang Pangarep, the youngest son of President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, to become a substantial shareholder of Persis Solo, a local football club in the President’s hometown Surakarta. Erick was also appointed chairman of the Sharia Economic Community (MES), wherein the Vice President is chairman of its advisory council.
