Stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed in the green on Tuesday as high-level trade talks between China and the US are due to start on Thursday. The gains came in despite ongoing concerns about global growth and as Wall Street extended its losing streak into a fourth week on Monday. The Nikkei 225 jumped 213 points or 1%; the Shanghai Composite rose 8 points or 0.3%; the Hang Seng added 95 points or 0.4%; the Kospi advanced 25 points or 1.2%; and the S&P/ASX 200 finished up 30 points or 0.5%.
