A Trust Fund for Culture

On December 6, 2018, the Government of Indonesia held the Congress for Culture. It’s the Tenth Congress held ever since it began in 1918 with Congres voor Javaansche Cultuur Ontwikkeling in Surakarta. After one hundred years of assemblies, we’ve finally reached progress. President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has promised to dedicate five trillion rupiah to start a Cultural Trust Fund.

More Investment Stories: Oil & Gas

The government has on Thursday (Dec 27) declared winners of three exploration blocks in oil and gas with investment commitments of US$10.95 million. The State gets US$6 million of signature bonus from the blocks, which use the gross split scheme. The much-anticipated investment, of course, is the Corridor producing block in Sumatra, where three giants are competing.
