President Joko ‘Jokowi’ Widodo claims ‘victory’ in getting 51% shares of PT Freeport Indonesia ahead of next year’s election, but supporters of Prabowo-Sandiaga launched series of criticism. Prabowo’s camp believes that the deal was not good enough, and, accordingly, shall be cancelled. Electoral effect of Freeport issue, of course, remains to be seen.

Commodities’ Mixed Fortunes & The 2019 Economy

Brent crude oil fell further by 2.61% to US$52.9 per barrel Friday (Dec 21) in European trading, while WTI crude down 1.6% to US$45 per barrel on global economic worries. Natural gas, meanwhile, gained 3.43%. Gold was flat at US$1259 per ounce. Implications to the State Budget 2019?
