Update on Lippo Group’s Graft Case

As of today, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is investigating two cases of corruption implicating the Lippo Group. First, is the case of bribery related to Lippo Group’s attempt to end the disputes implicating their companies with the help of a former Registrar of the Central Jakarta District Court one Edy Nasution and the former Secretary of the Supreme Court one Nurhadi Abdurrachman. Second, is the case of bribery involving Billy Sindoro and the former Regent of Bekasi one Neneng Hassanah Yasin. The former allegedly bribed the latter in order to obtain licenses for the Meikarta township project; a project developed by PT Mahkota Sentosa Utama.

Update on Lippo Karawaci

Since mid-October 2018, investors intensified selling in shares of property developer Lippo Karawaci (LPKR) in the wake of many negative issues such as worsen earnings results for the third quarter (Q3) of 2018 due to a jump in expenses and bribery case related to Lippo’s ambitious US$20 billion Meikarta township project. On Wednesday (Nov 28), LKPR declined 0.74% to Rp270 per share, falling 45% year to date.
