World Bank (WB) will provide loan of US$300 million for Indonesia Tourism Development Projects (ITDP). The Public Works and Housing Ministry as the manager of the projects said its ready to meet all the conditions needed for the loan. The loan signing is scheduled to take place on October 22, 2018.
Around US$22 million would be used to facilitate development of integrated and sustainable tourism industry, US$239.6 million for improvement of road quality and basic service access in selected tourist areas, US$37.1 million for local participation in tourism industry and US$1.3 million for creation of conducive environment to attract involvement of the private sector in tourism development.
Earlier, government guaranteed the readiness of infrastructure in 12 priority strategic areas of national tourism to ensure that the target to chalk up 20 million visits by foreign tourists in 2019 could be a reality.
