The Chinese economy grew by 1.6% quarter-on-quarter (Q/Q) in the three months to September 2018, compared to a 1.8% expansion in the previous period. Year on year, Chinese economy advanced 6.5% in the September quarter of 2018, after a 6.7% growth in the previous period. It is the lowest growth rate since the aftermath of the global financial crisis in the first quarter of 2009, amid intense tariff dispute with the US and and alarming off-balance-sheet borrowings by local governments.
