Asian shares were steady on Friday and were on track for a solid advance this week, while oil and the dollar held onto gains in the wake of strong U.S. corporate earnings, Reuters reported. South Korean markets are closed for the holidays on Friday and Monday. Chinese markets are also shut down for the Lunar New Year holiday and will resume trade on Friday, Feb. 3.
