Prepaid SIMCards for cellular phones are easy to come by in Indonesia. For as little as 5,000 rupiah, one can buy one’s access to mobile connectivity. Owner registration is a part of activating any SIMCards but that hasn’t stopped the numbers from being used for criminal activities. The Indonesian Government has prepared a new measure to solve that problem. The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (Kominfo) made the announcement that the Government would start to impose a new SIMCard regulation in December 15—the regulation was previously planned for release on March earlier this year.To subscribe please click here
