The General Election Commission (KPU)  announced the names of regional leader candidates that had passed the commission’s verification process yesterday (Aug. 24). There are now 7 regions left with only one pair of contenders. The question now is, will President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo issue a new government regulation in lieu of law (Perppu) to make sure said regions would be able to hold their respective local election despite only having a pair of candidates. To subscribe please click here
