President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo began his reign by concentrating on the improvement of maritime issues. Not long after the President took office, the House of Representatives (DPR) passed the bill on Marine Affairs proposed by the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) into Law No. 32/2014. A key point in said Law is the establishment of the Maritime Security Agency (Bakamla), which is an expanded version of its progenitor, the Maritime Security Coordinating Agency (Bakorkamla).To subscribe please click here
