The discussion on the development of Light Rail Transit system for Jakarta has intensified in the past couple of days. It culminated with the member of the Jakarta Regional Representative Council (DPRD DKI), Mohamad Sanusi, telling the media that the LRT the project wouldn’t go through because it’s not in the capital city’s spatial planning document. This is, of course, a complete non-sense, because anyone who has actually read Jakarta’s spatial planning bylaw (a 155-page document with dozens of attachments) would know that the development of LRT has always been a part of Jakarta’s 2030 spatial planning document, or the so-called RTRW 2030.To subscribe please click here
