There is an interesting development at the Golkar Party. The two warring factions in the party—Agung Laksono’s and Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie’s— have agreed to temporarily reconcile. Both factions agreed to unite for the sake of the Party participating in the 2015 simultaneous regional elections. Vice President Jusuf Kalla, as a senior politician and former Golkar chairman, seemed to have played substantial role in brokering this temporary peace deal.
