Indonesia is the world’s fourth largest coffee producer. just behind Brazil, Vietnam, and Colombia—Brazil with 45,342,000 bags, Vietnam 27,500,000 bags, Colombia 12,500,000 bags, Indonesia 9,000,000 bags wherein one bag is equal to 60 kilogram. That said, most of our beans are exported overseas, domestic consumption of coffee remains modest. Growth opportunity is there, which would explain the sudden explosion of local brands of roasting companies offering varieties of Indonesian single origins.
