Governor of Jakarta Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaja Purnama is expected to appoint his Vice Governor this week. It’s obvious now that the new Vice Governor of Jakarta will be Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, a PDI-P politician with significant experience as he was once a two-term mayor of the city of Blitar. Djarot told journalists last week that the President has not yet issued the decree to officiate his appointment, but if all goes well, Djarot believed that he would be inaugurated on Dec. 18.
