President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo is an intriguing politician. Many didn’t believe that he was able to win against Prabowo Subianto in the presidential race. But he triumphed against the odds despite the overwhelming negative campaign suggesting he’s nothing more than a puppet of the elites. Jokowi worked hard to dismiss this characterization. But many seem to remain wary of the presence of people like Surya Paloh, Jusuf Kalla, and Megawati in Jokowi’s inner circle. It appears that Jokowi has grown to accept this skepticism.
