It’s like waiting for Godot. That’s the joke among journalists last night. Many of us were anticipating President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo to announce his cabinet at Tanjung Priok Port’s Pier 320. Something would happen at 7 PM, or so we heard. But as it turned out, nothing happened at 7 PM. Journalists who were bussed in from the State Palace to Tanjung Priok at 3 PM were made to wait for 4 hours for nothing. Tempers flared, because it wasn’t the first time for President Jokowi to be late. But one key thing many of us forgot the remember: Jokowi never committed to making any announcement yesterday.
