The patron leader of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) Megawati Soekarnoputri broke her silence and spoke up on what she claimed to be a black campaign at her party. Separately, Aburizal “Ical” Bakrie desperately sought the support of teachers by sending thousands of them letters begging for their votes. Prabowo, on the other hand, launched an effort aimed at gaining the backing of the Islamic communities (including Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) and Muhammadiyah the two largest Muslim organizations in the country).
