Despite its difficult history, the Party of Functional Groups, otherwise famously known in Indonesia as Golkar, remains as one of the most influential political parties in the country. But the Golkar that we know today is very different from the Golkar that operated in the times of the New Order era. The Golkar today is akin to a corporation with a wide variety of shareholders. As most of you should be familiar with, in big organizations with diverse shareholders (with no single dominating force) there are bound to be politics. In politics the winners are those with the best kung fu. This is Kung Fu Golkar.
