Yesterday afternoon, the Chairman of the United Development Party (PPP) Suryadharma Ali notified Kompas.com that his party will hold its Eighth National Congress (Muktamar) in Jakarta, on October 23. This announcement is contrary to the announcement previously made by the Secretary General of PPP Romahurmuzy that the PPP’s Eighth Muktamar will be held in Surabaya tomorrow, on Oct. 15, 2014. So, which one is legit, Suryadharma’s Jakarta Muktamar or Romahurmuzy’s Surabaya Muktamar?

Premiums for Plastic Bags

According to Yahoo! Indonesia and Greeneration Indonesia an Indonesian uses 700 plastic bags per year from shopping. The production of all those plastic waste costs 11 trillion rupiah per year. Antara News reported that the production of Indonesian domestic plastic waste reached up to 5.4 million ton per year, which is 14 percent of the total waste production. In Jakarta alone, the Jakarta Environmental Management Agency (BPLHD) recorded that out of the 6,000 tons of garbage produced on a daily basis, 13 percent are in the form of plastic waste.
