Towards the end of December 2018, the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) held a sting operation and arrested several officials in the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Indonesian National Sports Committee (KONI). They were suspected of bribery. The trial of the alleged bribers began on March 11, 2019. Note that before being arrested by the KPK, one of the bribe givers, the Secretary General of KONI one Ending Fuad Hamidy was also mentioned in another corruption case involving officials of the Supreme Audit Agency (BPK).
