Indonesia’s annual consumer price inflation eased to a 29-month low of 2.82% in January 2019 from 3.13% in the previous month Prices rose softer for: foodstuff (1.98% vs 3.41%); prepared food, beverages, cigarette & tobacco (3.75% vs 3.91%); clothing (3.55% vs 3.59%); health (3.13% vs 3.14%), and education, recreation & sport (3.15% vs 3.24%).

On the other hand, prices went up faster for both housing & utilities (2.48% vs 2.43% in November) and transportation, communication & financial services (3.28% vs 3.16%). Annual core inflation edged down to 3.06% in January from a 14-month high of 3.07% in December. On a monthly basis, consumer prices went up 0.32%, after a 0.62% gain in November.
