Heavy equipment distributor and coal company United Tractors will focus to developing energy business, to diversify its business which also aims to mitigate risks for coal and heavy equipment businesses. UNTR through PT Bhumi Jati Power is now constructing coal-fired power plant (PLTU) with capacity of 2×1000 megawatts (MW) in Jepara, East Java. UNTR holds 25% interest in this PLTU. UNTR partners with Sumitomo Corporation and Kansai Electric Power Co Inc in developing the said PLTU targeted to commence commercial operation by 2021.
