The central bank (Bank Indonesia/BI) views the development of external debt in the fourth quarter of 2015 as healthy. As of the end of the fourth quarter of 2015, external debt stood at US$310.7 billion, up 2.8% compared to the end of the third quarter of 2015 amounted to US$302.3 billion. Based on original maturity, the increase was attributable to a rise in long-term external debt (86.7% of total external debt). Based on the group of borrowers, the increase in external debt happened in the public sector, while private sector external debt declined.To subscribe please click here
