The decision of the House of Representatives’ ethics council (MKD DPR) to conduct their trial against the Speaker of the House Setya Novanto behind closed door on Monday (Dec. 7) presented us with a few interesting facts, one of which is the fact that only 5 out of the 17 members of the MKD declined Novanto’s request for a closed-door session. These five members demanded for a public trial. But recall that in the beginning, the new ruling coalition was able to secure the majority of votes in the MKD (11 votes) to accept the trial against Novanto.
