We enjoy talking about words on the street—information we’ve gathered based on our conversations with sources in various levels of proximity to the person/subject of interest. When it comes to words on the street regarding the cabinet of President-elect Joko “Jokowi” Widodo, however, the information we’ve received are especially confusing. We can’t seem to piece together a solid picture of the cabinet. It’s still very much fluid. No one seems to know for sure who will become what. And so some have begun to wonder whether this is a deliberate attempt on the part of Jokowi’s strategists to confuse, or a straightforward reflection of what’s happening internally at Jokowi’s team, i.e., a complete chaos.
