In a previous article related to the free nutritious meal (MBG) program initiated by Prabowo, we have covered the involvement of law enforcement agencies, namely POLRI and TNI, and their roles in supply chain. Now, let’s talk about the other partners that support this program in the context of food provision and distribution: the lesser-known, smaller foundations and enterprises.

Oil price spike?

Brent crude oil opened higher by 1.8% to US$81.16 per barrel in Asian trading this morning, the highest level since August 2024. The commodity has gained 10% from last month, triggered by new US sanctions targeting Russian oil tankers and maritime insurance providers plus extreme cold weather in the Northern hemisphere.

Mandiri Sekuritas and BNI Sekuritas, both are brokerages firms controlled by state banks Mandiri and BNI, predicted the composite index of Indonesia Stock Exchange/IDX (IHSG) would cross 8,150 and 8,000 respectively this year. This morning, IHSG gained grounds to 7,112.

Import for the full year of 2024 might have surpassed US$8 billion. Two countries are big winners there: Thailand (60.2%) and Vietnam (39.48%). Shares of Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua/PIK-2 (PANI) ended higher by 2.83% to Rp18,175 on Thursday (Jan 9) to make a market capitalisation of Rp307 trillion, more than 15 times market value of BSD City (BSDE, Rp19.3 trillion). The national strategic project (PSN) from PIK-2 in Tangerang Regency, Banten province, is now linked to the mysterious ‘illegal fence’ stretched out over 30 KM.

No viral, no justice! No viral, no action! Officials from ministry of fisheries and marine affairs have finally sealed the 30.16 KM bamboo fence in the northern shore of Tangerang Regency, Banten province, reportedly upon the order from President Prabowo Subianto. Netizens went wild in commenting statements from the officials, who claimed haven’t found the one responsible for erecting the fence.

In GOLD they trust

Shares of Indika Energy (INDY) gained 6.64% to Rp1,605 on Thursday (Jan 9) as some anticipated positive impact from the company’s entry into gold mining business. Gold remains among the best performing metals with 32% gain year-on-year to US$2,670 per troy ounce this morning.

Shares of bukalapak.com (BUKA) recovered 2.6% to Rp120 Thursday (Jan 9) after losing 4% on Wednesday following the company’s decision to cease operation of marketplace for physical goods. Shares of Emtek (EMTK), the largest shareholder of BUKA, meanwhile, declined further by 1% to Rp520.
