Updates on Dwi Aneka Jaya Kemasindo’s PKPU

The creditors of PT Dwi Aneka Jaya Kemasindo Tbk (DAJK) decided to give the Company another opportunity to revise their peace proposals in the process of Suspension of Debt Payment (PKPU). This decision was accepted by the Panel of Judges of the Commercial Court at Central Jakarta District Court at the hearing held on June 13, 2016. With this decision, DAJK has 45 more days.

The End for Dewie Yasin Limpo?

The bribery case involving the former Hanura politician Dewie Yasin Limpo has reached the finish line. On June 13, 2016, the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court read the verdict of Dewie and Bambang Wahyuhadi (her staffer). Both were found guilty for accepting bribes and sentenced to 6 years in prison with the obligation to pay Rp200 million in fine subsidiary 3 months imprisonment. But the Panel of Judges rejected the Prosecutor’s demand for the forfeiture of Dewie’s political rights.

Updates on Bank Bukopin v. Panghegar Group

After one of its subsidiaries PT Panghegar Kana Legacy was declared bankrupt in mid May 2016, the Panghegar Group is facing another set of problem. Two of the Group’s other subsidiaries, PT Panghegar Kana Properti and PT Hotel Panghegar, have had their request for an extension of Suspension of Debts Payment (PKPU) status rejected by creditors. The future of the two companies is in the hands of the Panel of Judges of the Commercial Court.

The End for Abdul Khoir?

The Director of PT Windhu Tunggal Utama Abdul Khoir has been sentenced to 4 years imprisonment with the obligation to pay Rp200 million in fine after he was found guilty of bribing at least 4 members of the House of Representatives and a state official. The verdict is surprising because the KPK named Abdul Khoir as a Justice Collaborator, which is the reason why the prosecutors only asked for 2 years and 6 months for Abdul Khoir. But the Panel of Judges believed that Abdul played a key role in the crime, and so he was deemed unfit to deserve the privileges of a Justice Collaborator.

2016 Capital Injection

The Government proposed a series of Capital Injections (PMNs) for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in the 2016 Revised State Budget (2016 RAPBN-P) after failing to secure the approval for the first PMN round proposed in the 2016 Budget (2016 APBN). This time, the Government has planned to inject Rp53 trillion in the 2016 RAPBN-P, or Rp13.5 trillion more compared to the allocation in the 2016 APBN.
