The Covid-19 pandemic might lead to faster consolidation in the banking industry. We have seen earlier acquisition of Bank Agris by Industrial Bank of Korea and taking over of majority control in Bank Bukopin by KB Kookmin Bank (whilst lawsuits planned by Bosowa Group). Before them, PT Metamorfosis Ekosistem Indonesia (MEI) and Wealth Track Technology Limited (WTT) acquired small bank Artos, which then eventually renamed it to Bank Jago.
