Indonesian financial market might be upbeat with news from Trump about a trade deal with Indonesia, wherein the country will ‘only’ be charged with 19%, instead of 32% tariffs. The government might immediately claim ‘diplomatic success’ of President Prabowo because the tariff is slightly lower than competing neighbour Vietnam (20%). The devil, however, is in the detail.
