The differences between the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) are increasingly apparent. While the KPK often takes a long time to complete a case, in recent years the AGO has been very responsive in completing various investigations that are their responsibility. Less than a year since the first suspect was announced in the case of alleged corruption related to the tin trading system carried out in the Mining Business License (IUP) area owned by PT Timah Tbk (TINS), several suspects have been convicted. This week, Harvey Moeis et al were also found guilty. However, the Panel of Judges’ decision leaves many questions.
