The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) has described the alleged extortion scheme in Sukoharjo as little more than a “copy-paste” of the previous administration. Investigators allege that Bupati Etik Suryani continued an established pattern of collecting illegal payments from civil servants, even using similar instructions and payment expectations that allegedly existed during the tenure of her predecessor, former Regent Wardoyo Wijaya, who is also her husband.
