We have been following the investigation conducted by the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) into the case of alleged manipulation of sugar imports since 2023 until the case developed into several criminal allegations including the case which ensnared former Minister of Trade, the beloved Thomas Trikasih Lembong, and the process continues. In the case, the AGO managed to ensnare nine more suspects, all of whom were the business actors who supposedly benefitted from the unlawful scheme. After four months of inquisition, this week the dockets of the remaining suspects have been expedited to the second stage of inquisition and this means the prosecution stage is just around the corner.
