The geostationary orbit scandal and the alleged violations in satellite management cooperation at the Ministry of Defense which had been uncovered for quite a while entered a new and even more complicated chapter. The Indonesian Government was sued by its former partners in several different arbitration courts and lost. In the first case, the Government managed to reveal a corruption scheme and the parties had been jailed since 2023. While in the second case, the Government is moving slower. The former partner even attempted to forcibly execute the arbitration award, violating all kinds of diplomatic principles. This week, the Attorney General’s Office (AGO) announced that it had named three suspects in a case of alleged corruption involving the second former partner stating that the invoice used to sue the Indonesian Government is fictitious.
