In the midst of ongoing investigations, inquisitions, and trials of defendants in case of alleged corruption at the Supreme Court, the Supreme Court recently appointed three new Justices, each for a different chamber of law. At the same time, the Supreme Court stated that the institution is experiencing a crisis, especially since there are currently only 10 Justices assigned in the criminal chamber, including the Chief of the Supreme Court. This is a problem because there are tens of thousands of criminal cases that must be examined each year, while the nine Justices who can examine cases can only be arranged into three sets of Assembly of Justices.
