Lukas Enembe, the disgraced governor of Papua, was named suspect in a case of alleged money laundering. The announcement was not surprising, what is surprising is the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) allegation that within only three years, from 2019, Lukas allegedly misused Rp1 trillion from the regional budget. We have questioned the use of the regional budget in Papua for years, simply because the region has not developed much even though it has been given Special Autonomy funds for decades. Now we know why.
