The former Registrar of North Jakarta District Court Rohadi, who was caught receiving bribes related to the case of sexual abuse involving a celebrity named Saipul Jamil, was found guilty in 2016. This seemingly trivial case became the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ‘s entry point to discovering many more crimes that Rohadi allegedly committed since 2005. Rohadi was probably the richest registrar in Indonesia when his case came to light. He has everything and even has his own hospital. But we soon learn that Rohadi’s wealth is the proceeds of crime and the KPK named him suspect of money laundering. It took the KPK a long time to finish the investigation until the trial began four months ago, far from media coverage. On June 28, 2021, the prosecutors read their demands.
