PT Perindustrian Njonja Meneer (Nyonya Meneer) was declared bankrupt on August 3, 2017. At the time, the Company said that they had no idea this would happen because the Company was in a healthy condition and claimed that they had a total of Rp16 trillion in assets. That said, during the bankruptcy process, the team of curators still could not find the trillions of rupiah of assets claimed. Nyonya Meneer tried to appeal the decision, but by the end of 2017, the Supreme Court decided in favor of the district court, so the bankruptcy process continues. On April 22, 2020, the Semarang District Court held a hearing on the lawsuit filed by Charles Saerang related to the bankruptcy process. Charles sued the two curators responsible for finishing the process and several other people.
