After five months of trial, on March 12, 2020, the Corruption Court of the Central Jakarta District Court finally read their verdict for Muhtar Ependy, the last defendant in the case of bribery involving the former chairman of the Constitutional Court Akil Mochtar. Muhtar, as we all know, is prosecuted as Akil’s aide, and what happened to Muhtar reminded us of the case investigation process that was highlighted after in 2017 the Pansus Hak Angket formed by the House of Representatives requested the testimony of several witnesses in the case. The question now is, will the verdict for Muhtar be the end of the investigation?
