The 2014-2019 House of Representatives (DPR) have been obsessed with revising the Law on Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) ever since they began their term of service in 2015. The plan was put forward but later postponed by the end of 2015. After that, the plan was discussed again for several times, but the process of legal drafting was conducted discreetly. On September 5, 2019, the DPR, with the blessings of all factions, suddenly agreed to move forward with the discussion and announced that the draft of the revised KPK law has officially become a bill initiated by the DPR. The decision was taken in a very short plenary session that lasted less than 30 minutes.
