President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo inaugurated the commercial operation of the Jakarta Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) on Sunday (Mar. 24). Jakartans can now use the service. Can they? The words on the news is that from today to the end of March, Jakartans can ride the MRT for free. They still have to buy the ticket card, but their credit will not be deducted. Tariffs will apply beginning on April 1. But what we’re hearing from people trying the service this morning, things are a bit more complicated.
