Global markets traded mixed on Tuesday (Jan 29) ahead of the vote on Brexit. The United Kingdom (U.K.) Parliament backed two amendments on Tuesday, to avoid a no-deal on Brexit and to ditch Irish backstop for alternatives. Nevertheless, the Cooper amendment to extend Article 50 was defeated, together with other four proposals.
