On December 30, 2015 the Palembang District Court (PN Palembang) rejected the lawsuit filed by the Government through the Ministry of Environment and Forestry (KLHK) against PT Bumi Mekar Hijau (BMH). This verdict left a great many people disappointed. Some argued that the presiding judges did not understand environmental problems, while others argued that the judges breached the judicial code of conduct.
