The New Government Regulation on Water Management

The government is nearly done preparing the draft Government Regulation (RPP) on Water Resources (RPP SDA) and the RPP on Water Supply System (RPP SPAM). Both RPP is designed to respond to the revocation of Law No. 7/2004 on Water Resources (UU SDA). The Constitutional Court (MK) previously declared the UU SDA unconstitutional after having found several articles in the law biased towards commercialization of water resources. And so the Law No. 7/2004 was revoked, and the Law No. 11/1974 on Water (UU Pengairan) came into effect once more.To subscribe please click here
