Peter Sondakh, owner of Rajawali Group, was partner of Bambang Trimatmodjo, son of then president Soeharto, in the establishment of first private-owned TV broadcasting company PT Rajawali Citra Televisi (RCTI). He lost ownership in RCTI following financial crisis in 1997-1999. Now RCTI, the largest free-to-air TV station, is controlled by Harry Tanoesoedibjo’s Media Nusantara Citra (MNCN).
