State-owned electricity utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) booked net loss of Rp29.6 trillion last year against net profit of Rp3.2 trillion in 2012, but mostly due to Rp48 trillion loss on foreign exchange translation related to depreciation of rupiah. Despite the huge loss, PLN actually generated some positive results in its operations.
