Foreign tourist arrivals in Indonesia tumbled 88.95% year-on-year to 153,498 in September 2020, as the COVID-19 global crisis forced more countries to implement travel restrictions. The number of arrivals by air in Bali, the center of the Indonesian tourism industry, slumped 100% to 8. Also, those visiting Jakarta plunged 96.47% to 7,468 and those reaching to Batam tumbled 98.84% to 1,843. Tourists fell mostly from Malaysia, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
