The COVID-19 vaccine from Pfizer-BioNTech appears to protect against the highly transmissible new variants discovered in the United Kingdom and South Africa, a study suggests. According to Reuters, Pfizer scientist Phil Dormitzer said the vaccine had been tested against 16 mutations. There will be further tests. AstraZeneca, Moderna, and CureVac are also testing their shots against the variants mentioned above.
