Nickel miner Vale Indonesia (INCO) reported its production of nickel in matte declined 16% to 16,445 metric tons in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2020, compared to the previous quarter, and it fell 20% compared to the corresponding period of 2019, as a result of planned maintenance activities. For 2020, Vale’s nickel in matte production increased 2% to 72,237 metric tons, compared to 71,025 metric tons in 2019. For this year, Vale targets to produce less than 70,000 metric tons.
